How to add DRM music to iMovie with permission

I have permission from the artist to use a song that has DRM protection. How can I add it to iMovie?

Although the owner has given you permission to use the song that has DRM protection, iMovie would not know that you have permission. You still need a DRM free version. One way would be to have the owner send you a DRM free copy.

There are ways to remove DRM, that would be illegal if you did not have permission. Since you do have permission, you might search the internet in that regard. Be sure that you have valid legal permission, in writing with proper reference to the song. There may be other licensees involved other than the owner as well. The owner may not even have the right to waive DRM if there are other contractual relationships in play.

If the song is available on iTunes it might just be easier to download a DRM free version for a dollar or so.

As a disclaimer, the above comments re not legal advice. You should consult legal counsel to determine your legal rights before doing anything.
