Lag/Constant Buffering While Screen Mirroring from Mac Studio to Apple TV

Not sure if this should be posted to the Mac Studio forum instead. When screen mirroring from my new Mac Studio to the Apple TV using either Zoom or YouTube, the buffering is so bad that is basically unwatchable. The MS is plugged into my Orbi router with a gigibit ethernet cable, so it doesn't seem to be related to the network. Ironically, my old late 2013 iMac is sitting 5 feet away, connected to the internet by wireless, and it mirrors perfectly to the Apple TV. Any idea what the issue might be?

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities Ricka Gerstmann,

We would like to ask you a couple of questions in order to get a better understanding. First, what exact version of tvOS are you currently using? We ask as the menus and options can change slightly between versions of the OS, and we want to make sure we provide the most accurate steps. Also, how many devices are connected to your router? Have you tried restarting the router? Finally, are there any applications running in the background when you start to mirror the Apple TV? If so, what are applications and how many?

We thank you for your answers, they will help guide us to the next troubleshooting step.

Kindest regards!

I am running the most recent version of the TV OS, 15.5.1. There were other devices connected to the router by wireless, but none were in use. For example, my work Windows PC had been restarted when I logged out and was asleep.

The most recent time I attempted to mirror a Zoom meeting to the TV, I quit all applications other than Safari and Zoom, and closed all Safari windows and tabs except the active tab. Nothing was running in the background. As I said in the first post, my elderly iMac connected to the internet by wireless has no difficulties at all.

Thanks for your help in trying to figure this out.
