Help! Indent Task (create subtask) Greyed Out in Reminders - Why?

Very frustrated. I have been attempting to use Apple's reminders on my new work laptop which is currently loaded with OSX Big Sur (version 11.6.6); however, the "indent" feature is greyed out, thus I'm unable to create subtasks. I have searched all over for an answer to no avail, so it's time to ask this question in the community yet again. What gives?
