How to merge messages from the same person which have split into 3 separate messages

Please help I have transferred over from Samsung to iphone but have noticed that my partners txt messages are sitting in 3 different messages. I also noticed that when I did the transfer across in one message from him I am only seeing my conversations to him but not hos to me. Another one has the attachments and the other has a mixture of both. Can someone please help how do I get them all into the same message as I don't know which message to reply to. I hope this made sense as I am pulling my hair out and do not want to regret moving across to apple :(

Greetings Creedy1303,

There is not a manual way to merge threads in the Messages app. Are you receiving messages from your partner in three separate threads currently or are all new messages accumulating in one? Can you also check to see if you have multiple Contact cards for your partner in the Contacts app? Does your partner also use an iPhone? Those things are going to tell us more about which servers the messages are sent and received on (Apple vs wireless carrier).

If you haven’t already, you can try starting a new conversation by tapping the box with the pen in it from top right when on the Threads list and entering in the phone number/contact you’re texting and sending a message. What happens to that message? It might start a whole new thread or it might go to an existing thread.

Thanks.
