I'm getting whatsapp notifications on Apple Watch but not on iPhone

I am getting WhatsApp notifications on my Apple Watch (with sound) however not getting any sound notifications on WhatsApp on my iPhone on some messages (getting notifications on some others). I can't figure out how to solve this. Can anyone help?

I just see the notification on my phone, but when i receive the notification, my phone doesn’t light up, or play the notification sound. I’ve now turned off notifications for whatsapp in the watch app and now i have got my usual notification behavior back (the one without the apple watch that is) but I’d still want the notifications coming through my apple watch. Incoming call WhatsAPP on apple watch Hi, I’m not receiving WhatsAPP Incoming calls on my Apple Watch, both, the Watch and the iPhone, are updated to the latest os, I was doing some research and according to Apple, the problem is the WhatsApp application, but before the Apple Watch, I had a Samsung Galaxy 3, and never had this problem with the WhatsApp incoming call notifications or any other notification. Could it be a Apple Watch software problem and not a WhatsApp issue? Thank you

When your watch is unlocked and your iPhone is locked, notifications go to the watch.
