Passcode is what you enter to initially power-up and unlock your phone.

If you've forgotten or misplaced your passcode, your ONLY option is to reset (erase) the device and restore it from a backup.

You WILL need your AppleID credentials.

Follow the instructions in this article:

How to reset your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch if you've forgotten your passcode – Apple Support (AU)

Note - If your device is running iOS/iPadOS prior to 15.2: You’ll also need a cable and a computer to follow the ADDITIONAL steps linked near the bottom of the article; in the section titled, "If you can't reset your device."
