I have an old Apple TV device. I am trying to use it on my computer, but it does not allow for two-step authentication and thus I cannot sign in. Since I cannot turn off two-step authentication, will this device just not work for me anymore?

How in the world do I circumnavigate this? I am so angry I could scream.

If its a first generation Apple TV you cannot use it.

If its a second or third generation Apple TV, you enter the two-factor authentication code in the password field along with the password. If your password is "pass" and your code is "123456", then you enter "pass123456" in the password field.
