Using one new Apple Display for two computers?

Using one Apple Display for two computers?

I'd like to use the new Apple Display with both a 2017 iMacPro and new Mac Studio. It seems, unlike other monitors, Apple Display only has one input. Many other monitors have multiple inputs and a way to switch between them.

So is it possible to use one new Apple Display and switch between two Macs without having to change the Thunderbolt cable?

Note that the linked Sabrent switch is limited to:

  • USB Type-C Alternate Mode to HDMI 2.0 output with resolution up to 4k@60Hz.

Does not seem good since the Studio display is 5K

Not directly, no.

You can however add a KVM switch between the display and the computers that can let you switch between them: link-> https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-2-Port-Type-C-Delivery-USB-KCPD/dp/B07Y2HKN37

Or you can use Screen Sharing to access the other computer's desktop from the currently connected one: Link-> Share the screen of another Mac - Apple Support

If the USB-C switch doesn't support 5K that negates the point of using an Apple Display. Might as well go with third party 4K monitors then.
