What is the best UPS for an M1Max (2022)- Mac studio in India? What power supply for the current - 6A or 16A?

Hi, I have an M1 Max (2022)- Mac studio in Bangalore, India.


Q1. What is the best UPS for it?

I seem to have 2 options for it in APC. Could someone suggest which is better?

OR

Q2. Also, what power supply required for Mac studio in current - 6A plug or 16A plug?

They have given a large plug (as in for 16A) but I'm using it in 6A plug using a 6A to 16A converter and its working. Is there any harm?

Please also note, that the above UPS options, both provide 6A power from all its plugs only.

Electrical and Operating Requirements


  • Line voltage: 100–240V AC
  • Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz, single phase
  • Maximum continuous power: 370W
  • Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
  • Storage temperature: –40° to 116° F (–40° to 47° C)
  • Relative humidity: 5% to 90% noncondensing
  • Operating altitude: tested up to 16,400 feet (5000 meters)


Since the unit itself could draw 370 Watts, the larger UPS would be more appropriate and trouble-free. You could plug your peripherals into the larger one as well.


In the US (for 120 Volts) typical power plugs are rated for 15 Amps, the common IEC cords are rated for at least 13 Amps.

Watts is roughly Volts * Amps, so at the higher 240 volts the 6 Amp plugs and cords should be adequate.
