how do I add an account recovery email

I saw an old email that I don't use. I removed it and there isn't a way to replace it with another.

Assuming that you have 2FA enabled, your recovery options now consist of:

  • Your Trusted Apple Devices
  • Trusted Numbers - These can be ANY voice or SMS-capable number where you can receive your 2FA codes IF you’ve lost access to your Trusted Device(s). (e.g. due to Theft, Fire, Man-made, and Natural Disasters)
  • Other Apple users you may optionally designate to serve as your “Recovery Contact(s).”
  • And lastly “Recovery Key” … Use only with CAUTION; a very real possibility exits to lock yourself out of your AppleID permanently. Intended for fairly sophisticated users w/ serious security concerns.
