iPhone screen is extremely dim after water damage

I went tubing on a river, my phone got wet. Everything works besides the fact my screen is extremely dim and does not change regardless of how high I have the brightness set. I wanted to ask if I got the screen fixed would that be enough or is it something deeper inside the phone I need to get fixed?

I would not trust any electrical device that had water get inside it.

I also would not just replace the screen.

Once water has gotten in, it dries and leaves behind residue and corrosion starts.

The best option is an out of warranty whole unit replacement.

Depends on what exactly happened. I suppose there’s a chance that only the screen assembly had any internal contact with water.

Every iPhone has liquid contact indicators on the logic board. If none of them show contact with water, you could be OK. If any are showing liquid contact, Apple will only offer a full replacement regardless of whether or not everything else works.

The way to find out is to have it evaluated at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
