The reply option does not appear when I press and hold on certain messages

Is there a reason I do not have the "reply" option when I press and hold messages?

iPhone 12, iOS 15

This feature only works with iMessages, not with SMS. The way to tell the difference is an iMessage is one with the blue message bubbles, an SMS is green.
