"reversetemplated" won't stop running

For a few months I noticed the fan on my MacBook Air is running continuously. I've tried various steps as mentioned in this community but it keeps coming back and draining down my battery.

I checked the Activity Monitor app and found there's a process named "reversetemplated" that is consuming 98% of my CPU. Sometimes there's delay of a few hours before it starts after I reset the SMU but it always pops back up.

I've also run a diagnostic using the EtreCheckPro app but don't see anything in the report that points to a specific app or service that's activating the reversetemplated process.

Would really appreciate some help or insight into how to stop it.
