Family plan- podcast issue

Hubby and I share a family plan under my Apple ID but we can’t both listen to podcasts at the same time. And when I open the app it only shows what he’s been listening too… any work around or am I doing something wrong?

Apple music I have the family plan but when anyone else is listening to music on the three other phones it kicks the rest of us out. We all have our own apple IDs and I have the family plan. I’ve checked but didn’t really need to because when I purchased it it asked me to add family members to said family plan. How or why can I not listen and why have a family plan if it doesn’t work? Also I have tried using the same Apple ID for all the phones as well. Same problem.
