Why have they made looking for a movie on the Apple TV app so horrendous.

I long for the day when you would go to the iTunes Store, choose a genre, and be able to scroll through the films. No it seems Apple has geared this app almost exclusively for tv viewers. With the huge thumbnails, the auto-play video when you click on a movie and no reviews? Maybe I'm missing something but from what I see here are my "Genre" choices. Independent, Romance, Sci-Fi, Kids & Family, Action, Comedy and Drama. Is the Foreign (International) hidden somewhere? No Horror? Am I missing something. This is really frustrating.

Possibly it differs by country or region, but my macOS TV app Search window shows these genres and topics: tv+, Fantastic worlds, Action, Drama, Kids and Family, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comedy, Thriller, Romance, Independent, Horror, Documentary, Adventure.

You don’t have to click tiles, you can try unlisted keywords such as ‘foreign’ or ‘international’, by typing those words in the search box.

Movies in the iTunes Store unfortunately have a single genre tagged to them, so you might overlook good titles if e.g. multi-genre fit {drama, mystery, horror, thriller} is categorized as only one of those.

Movies list the Tomatometer score, based on reviews. That would be an indicator of what critics think of the movie. While not perfect, it won’t be distorted easily by mobs of users, that would make other types of scores less trustworthy.

For browsing, try the iTunes Store app on your iPhone or iPad. That lists movies somewhat similar to how it was in the old iTunes application, with more titles in view, and 24×36 posters.
