Sound sharing for children

My children have a new iPad Air mounted between the front seat headrests in my car. We wish for them to wear headphones. iPad connects to two Puro headphones (No 1 in NYT test for children) safe for children, but only gives sound on one. Do you have a wireless option safe for children?

i understand that Apple wants to make money through bundling, and i usually go woth apple products. Still I’m not willing to compromise when safeguarding my childrens health. Then I would rather be a dissapointed customer using a mini jack splitter and frequently untangle the children.

You might be able to do what you want using AirPods paired with your iPad Air. There is also an option on the iPadOS to control the volume with the Headphone safety option. Here is a link to a user guide on AirPods :

I have seen the list of products supporting sound sharing. I don’t trust software based limitations to keep all sound peaks under the safe limit for small child-ears.

In order stay competitive while being fanatical on limiting functions to own products I recommend that you start the development of childrens headphones.

I can see the iPad connecting to both headphones, and my car can connect one phone to the telephone and a separate one to play music.

My understanding is that the absence of this function is a conscious choice made by Apple. Looks like I will have to stay a dissapointed customer as suspected.
