Since updating my Mac to M1 Im having a problem with syncing music . The tracks install ok on my iPad and the albums are listed ok on the actual iPad, but when I connect iPad to Mac to add playlists or albums the view of music from ipad that's showing on Mac is in list form only and I can't see where to change view to see albums and playlists on the iPad

No, you don't have that option now, nor the ability to edit metadata or playlists that are already on the device. If you want to make a change you have to make it in Music, and copy over the updated file or playlist from there.

Music and Finder are less capable than iTunes when it comes to manually managed devices. There is no easy way to review existing content on the device, or play from it. Syncing with selected playlists that you manage in Music is a better approach.

Not sure what this is telling me. On my old Mac I used to be able to see music content in album form when viewing iPad through cable connection to my Mac, I can still see tracks but in list form only . I remember being able to change view but I don't seem to have that option now
Thanks for that Turingtest2. Its times like this that I wish Id just kept my 2009 Mac. Why apple would stop this feature and not replace with something better I don't know
