command v pasting without format

Hi All,

I'm a new Mac user and have been using it for a month now. Since Friday my command changed itself to pasting without formatting. When I do the command shift v, that's when I can paste with format. Not sure how it got swapped. I tried searching but couldn't figure it out. I found a solution that says how I can set up a shortcut for all applications. I want to know how it got swapped and how to get back the original shortcut. Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks,

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.4

Actually, the format of the paste is whatever it was from where you copied. I like arial fonts and frequently I am copying from a times-roman font document, and I want to match the style in the new document. IF the new was using times-roman, then the paste be a match, (and height if the common 12 pt). I favor using the drop-down menus for most everything. My old computer running HiSierra worked this same way. OS-12.4 has some new tricks, paste is not one of them. You will do well. Best wishes.
