I’m trying to connect my new AirTag and it says it’s in use with another account.

Hi I just purchased a new AirTag from Walmart like 20 min ago, I’m trying to connect and it says it’s in use with another account, or something like that, is there anyway to fix it? I have the receipt to show it’s new from Walmart

Based on the article below, you should return this AirTag to WalMart and be certain you obtain a brand new, factory sealed one in exchange.
