Has anyone else suddenly got this run time error '53' on Excel and other Office applications for Mac? I have looked for solutions and have hit a brick wall in either instructions that I cannot follow, i.e. cannot find the so called areas to go to or code to use and I am not that computer savvy!
You're trying to open a file Excel cannot find.
What's the extension the file?
How are you trying to open it? If with File / Open ... find the file in Finder and double click on it. If Excel is the default, it should open. Or right click and choose Open with and indicate Excel ... or whatever the default app is.
What kind of file is this?
What actually happened? Or didn't happen as the case might be? What exact error messages did you get?
A description of what's going on, before during and after the event is far better than just giving the number "53".
Apologies, when I open Excel or Word I get this error box. You have to click end at least twice to get rid of it, most annoying.
