Iphone Calendar App Crashing

This is a problem I have had on my old iPhone and my new iPhone 13 Pro. When I try and add an event to the calendar, the app will crash as I am typing in the information. Nothing is saved in the calendar. The way I have to work around the problem is I type the first letter of the title of the event and then immediately save it. I then have to go back and edit the event to complete the information. This works fine as long as I remember to do it. If I forget then the app always crashes and I have to start over. Really frustrating.
