For the last couple of weeks my 2014 iMac running Mojave keeps getting a message that says "SafariPluginUpdateNotifier quit unexpectedly". This happens every 15 to 20 minutes, even if I am not running Safari. I just click on the button and continue using my Mac. It does not freeze and I can use the computer. It is annoying that it covers part of the screen. Is there a serious problem and what can I do to have it stop? Thanks.

Have you launched Safari & checked it for extensions?

See if you have unknown Profiles.

To remove a configuration profile in macOS:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences....
  2. From the View menu in System Preferences, select Profiles.Note:
  3. Profiles won't be visible until you have at least one profile installed.
  4. Select the profile you want to remove, and then press the - (minus) button. Click Remove to remove the profile.
