Notification Profile Icons Missing (See attached picture)

Every once in a while, the profile icons/pictures for my iMessages, Snapchats, and Twitter dm's all disappear. This has been happening to me for about a month.

The only way to fix it is to restart my phone (hard reset, holding the power and volume button). But that doesn't always work the first time and isn't a permanent fix.

Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they know of a permanent fix? Or if I should bring it into an apple store to be fixed?

Not the biggest deal but would like to not have to turn my phone off and on all the time.
