MacBook Pro 2015 randomly shuts down

I have 2015 MB Pro with macOS Big Sur 16gb ram. Last year I had to change the battery as it swelled up and afterwards I wasn’t using it to much as I switched to Mac mini.

But for couple of months now I’ve been using it again and I have an issue with the computer shutting down randomly usually when I’m watching movies -

Today it was 48% battery and It just went black. When I reopened it all of the tabs were back on, no error pop-up and the date was set on 1st January 2020.

Date is resetting most of the times when it happens but not always.

I went to the service and they were diagnosing it for 2 days (running it with videos all day to drain battery, using some tools etc) to check what it is but didn’t find anything (of course…)

So maybe someone here has some ideas what the heck is going on?

All those symptoms are consistent with a faulty battery. It's not completely dead, but it appears that it simply crashes unpredictably.

If you replaced it yourself, replace it yourself again. If Apple is willing to replace it, have them do it: Get Support. Click Battery & Power.
