Great troubleshooting so far. Were you able to complete the steps from If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support including restarting your computer, testing another USB cable and uninstalling security software?


If so, it would be best to contact Apple Support for further assistance. You can reach out from Get Support or using the direct phone number for your region from Contact Apple for support and service.

Thanks for your response. I regularly back up my iphone 13 pro max on my windows computer. I've checked to ensure that itunes is running the latest version. When trying to again back up my iphone to itunes keep getting the following error message on itunes: "itunes could not connect to this iphone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)."

Have restarted both my windows computer and the iphone but keep getting the same error.
