Not typing when I open iMessage

This has been happening since recently, I'm not sure when it started, but it's been annoying me more and more, but whenever I either click a notification from iMessage or click it from my dock, it'll show the blinking line thing that shows where I'm typing and if I misspelled something it'll show the autocorrect option, but the text won't show. For it to work I have to click into iMessage and then back in the text area at the bottom to start typing. It's getting super frustrating and I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks if anyone either has this issue or knows how to fix it!

Hello Rami0216,

The best thing to do is the general troubleshooting that can, while simple, clear out most issues like this:

If you still see the same thing or tried those steps, start the Mac up in safe mode and test the feature out there: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Best regards.
