My music library appears to be using a lot of memory on my MacBook Pro. If I delete it, will it stay in the iCloud?

Can I delete the music in my library that is taking up a lot of memory on my MacBook Pro without losing the music? I mean, If I delete it on my MacBook Pro, will it remain in the iCloud?

I already have iCloud storage turned on, so I don't know why my music is taking up so much memory on my physical MacBook Pro.

Hello Southend519,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Your options regarding your music library can vary depending on how they were initially added to your Mac. For example, if they were added using Apple Music, adding songs to your library but not downloading them can help save internal storage. Check out Add and download music on Mac.

If these songs were ripped from CDs or added from another source, changing where your files are stored may help. Guidance can be found in Change where your music files are stored on Mac.

Have a great day!
