Service and support for your product

Hi,

I want to ask about confirmation of purchase. When I enter on checkcoverage apple web site someone's serial number number there is no confirmation of purchase like on my serial number (when I enter my own SN there is confirmation of purchase, guarantee etc.) On someone's SN there is only "activate your device". Is it everything ok with this phone? Like I want to know that phone is legal or something.
