Shared iPad - Microsoft Endpoint/Intune Time Zone and Syncing Issues

Hi,

We have some iPads we use that are managed by Microsoft Endpoint/InTune and we are having a number of issues.

They are setup as shared iPads and we are federated with Microsoft for all the accounts to enable students/staff to log on to them.

The first issue we have is getting the time to sync correctly. At present the time is set to 8hrs behind our time and the only way to temporarily fix this is to logon and enable location services on each device. The problem is that when the user logs off the time will eventually go back to being 8hrs behind. We have looked in all the settings and cannot see an option to force location services on or locking the devices to the correct time zone.

The next issue is the iPads not syncing users data back to iCloud/Endpoint and the iPads then reporting they have run out of space despite only having a few users on there. The only way to fix this is to delete the profile from InTune/Endpoint losing all the work that hasn't sync'd back rendering them not reliably useable. We are not sure if this is related to the time zone issue or whether it is an issue between Apple and Microsoft syncing the data back possibly when the iPad has gone to sleep or if a user has failed to log out after a set period of time.

I have searched for other organisations with similar issue but have yet to find one so am hoping someone may be able to help?

Thank you

Thank you for replying. We did have a look to see if this was the case but can find no evidence that it is set to a specific time zone within the Endpoint/Intune settings.

The time is -7/8 hours so California/San Francisco time. Which I imagine is the default chosen by Apple until it picks up a time zone from the location service.

It we could find a setting to force location services to be on for all users then I think this might solve the problem but I am not sure something exists in Endpoint/Intune yet.

The thing I find odd is that we surely can't be the only place using Endpoint/Intune and shared iPad mode. So I find it strange that I haven't found anything posted anywhere.
