Can’t see screen on iPhone XS and need to back it up for new phone

My iPhone XS has a black screen that is flashing green at the bottom. The Verizon guy messed with it and now it keeps saying iPhone unavailable. My phone needs to be backed up. If I plug my phone into my desktop, will it automatically back that phone up once plugged in, even tho I can’t access my screen at all?

You’ll need to get the device repaired, and here preferably with the data preserved. If that’s even feasible.

There’s no means to remotely enabled backups with the display and touch screen non-functional.

Backups have to occur prior to the failure, loss, damage, dunking, theft, or such.
