The size of the attachment - and the speed of your internet connection - will largely determine the time necessary to download an attachment. Large file sizes and/or slow connections will lead to longer time.

Server load can also significantly impact download speed. If the server is heavily loaded, or its own network connection has insufficient bandwidth to service current demand, performance will suffer.
