2009 iMac

I want to restore my 2009 iMac (still working ok) to factory settings but I no longer have the Boot Disc. Any suggestions please?

Is it an Early 2009 or Late 2009?

  1. You can not restore either to the factory settings without the original gray Disk Set.
  2. You can use a Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD on an Early 2009, the Late 2009 may require Lion.
  3. If it is a Late 2009 that was running High Sierra, then you should be able to use macOS Recovery to reinstall High Sierra.
