I forgot my Apple ID password

I requested a new password because for some reason the one I have didn't work. I typed in the new password clicked the "continue" button and then this infernal "error" message shows!

Now I am locked out on my laptop for the umpteenth time and have to wait 13 days! Even my Bank has the courtesy to reset within a couple hours.

Apple, these lengthy waiting times are extreme and unreasonable!

At the very least install an option so the password becomes visible while typing. How many people miss type accidentally. A lot. And 3-5 tries is not near enough. I have a wash list of passwords for Apple accounts, I can't remember which one goes where.

We have had this laptop since 2015 and it has been rarely used because of these stupid long waiting times.

Apple, we CAN'T remember passwords. We have them written down but at least let us try to enter them 20+ times and add a visibility option!

I'm so frustrated I could just smash the thing and go back to PC. So far we have made more phone calls to tech support than actual made use of the laptop. What an expensive "joke".

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.

You are sign in here . . . with your Apple ID & Password (?).

Your Apple ID is the personal account you use with all Apple products and services. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in, as well as the contact, payment, and security details that you use with Apple.

You can’t merge multiple Apple ID accounts.
