There's a lot of features now to keep your battery working it's best. Sometimes you Mac will know when you use it on battery power or if you only use it on the charger at certain times. Now there should be a small menu that comes down when you click on the battery in your menu bar.

This menu may have a button that allows you to "charge battery to full" or will tell you where the Mac is using the power.

If this is the concern you have then fear not, your Mac is working fine.

If you mean that every time you plug you Mac into the charger and the device turns itself off and on than I believe you have have either a faulty charger (not working properly or the wrong Wattage of unit) or your Mac has an internal issue.
