I am trying to connect an older DVI monitor as a second display to my 2017 iMac, but nothing I have tried has made it appear as a display on the Mac. I have tried DVI>Mini Display Port Adapter>Mini Display Port to USB C Adapter, as well as DVI>USB C Adapter, and neither seem to work. Is this even possible? If so, what configuration do I need?

Not all USB-C to DVI adapters are created equal.
Test one that is compatible with Mac models including MacBook’s, Mac Mini’s and iMac’s.
