Greetings Honeybearandsugarcrisp,

Being able to rotate your screen between portrait and landscape mode is important and you've come to a great place for help! The steps listed below walk through enabling and disabling Portrait Orientation Lock. With the lock disabled, your iPhone will automatically switch between landscape portrait mode based on the orientation of your iPhone and if you're using a supported app.

  1. "Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
  2. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button  to make sure that it's off.
  3. Turn your iPhone sideways."

"If the screen still doesn't rotate, try a different app — like Safari or Messages — which are known to work in landscape mode."

Rotate the screen on your iPhone or iPod touch

Take care!
