2010 MacPro 5,1 and windows
hello all fellow Mac enthusiasts!
i have been a long time reader and follower. I have absorbed so much knowledge from reading the often many page long discussions on several great topics.
now I have a question that I’m sure is ample news.
Thanks for your patience.
I have my 2010 Mac Pro running bios 5,1.
Dual 2.93 GHz six core Xeon CPUs
64 GB 1333 DDR3
Boot drive is one side of a dual slot 5gps PCIE card installed in the top slot. One 512 SSD. With Mojave
The other 512GB SSD on the card I’d like to install windows. But boot camp says no Bueno.
Graphics are a GTX 680 with 2GB and Mac EPROM flashed to it.
It works flawlessly and Mojave looks great.
I also have a Dell T7500 it is basically the Dell attempt at the MacPro. Dual Xeon CPU’s. 64gb ram. 4 hard drive bays. Two optical bays etc.
I can’t see why windows 10 won’t run on superior hardware that is the MacPro.
Am I over thinking this?
Can I boot to a windows 10 usb installation and install it on the empty 512 GB on the pci E card Mojave is on?
I imagine i would have to fine all the drivers without apples help
thanks for all your great advice and tips I have read here in the past.
