iTunes Match not syncing custom lyrics and comments correctly

I use a MBP and an iMac both with the latest software, macOS Monterey 12.4 and also an iPhone (iOS 15.5)

I have an active iTunes Match and Apple Music subscription, all devices are supposed to sync (enabled) but

when I change song info like comments and lyrics on 1 Mac,

  • they are correctly synced to iPhone
  • comments are correctly synced between MBP and iMac but REVERT when I play the song
  • custom lyrics are NOT synced at all, not even after a 'forced' sync by modifying other info, like comments

any suggestions?

If you'd like your custom lyrics to sync, these steps might help.


You mention that you have both an iTunes Mach and Apple Music subscription. You also mentioned that that sync is enabled. Have you had the chance to double-check that on the second Mac that both of these services are enabled? Also, have you tried starting from the other Mac and syncing the other way?


To sync custom lyrics across your devices, you need a subscription to Apple Music or iTunes Match.


The information above is from View and enter lyrics in Music on Mac. If the issue continues, let the community know what sort of file type the music files are. Additionally, let the community know how many different songs you've tested this with.
