I am unable to report spam or unwanted texts any more. When I press and hold the message the list of options i.e. more no longer appears; which means the option to fwd the text is no longer there. All that I get is a little box at the bottom of the message containing the following options: Pin, Hide Alerts, Mark as Red, Delete.
I do not know if this is related to the latest iOS upgrade or not?

That’s what you will see if you hold your finger on a message you sent. If you hold on a received message you should see “More” on the list; tap that, then the forward arrow.
That has nothing to do with AT&T Call Protect, which AT&T has replaced with AT&T Active Armor.

These are messages that I have received. I am even using the unknown senders filter. I just noticed something odd. If I tap a message a second time it appears without that box, and the normal Subject/Text Message boxes show up. If I hold the message then the Copy, Translate, More box appears and I can get the FWD arrow. Something odd or new going on?
Until a few weeks ago, I would press and hold then more would come up. Now when I press and hold I get the "Pin, Hide Alerts, Mark as Red, Delete". I have to press and hold again to finally get a second go around to get the more option to finally show up.
Ah, I see what you're doing. You're starting at the top level of the conversation. That gives you the menu for actions related to the entire conversation. Open the conversation and tap and hold on the individual message you want to forward.
With any third-party app, the first thing to try is deleting the app and reinstalling it. If that doesn't help, contact the app developer.

I did delete and reinstall, no joy a few days ago. Trying to contact AT&T is a nightmare.

Nope, it's been that way for probably a decade.
It used to pop right up on the first press, now I have to do it twice??
No, you need to press and hold, then tap more. Probably about a decade ago, you didn't need to then tap "More" but yeah, it's been a long time.
