Solved: Emoji not showing up in picker

I had an issue where the emoji picker was missing a lot of emoji and showing blanks.

This isn't my image, but it's the same problem: (from Mac OS doesn't show all the current emoji… - Apple Community

The way I solved it was going to Font Book and resolving the duplicate of the Apple Color Emoji font. For some reason, I had a really old version active.

Can't get emojis on my mac keyboard I can't get emojis when I hit control + Command + Spacebar. I used to be able to use those keys to get emoji's but about 2.5 weeks ago it stopped working. How do I solve this? I have the keyboard and emojis viewers in menu bar checked under the keyboard settings. Has an update messed with it? How can I get them back?
