I used to save the birthdate of my friends when I see wishes somewhere. I have been observing that some of these updates doesn't save properly but I can't understand why.
Today I saved three person's birthday on their contact, but after about 20 minutes the birthday event disappeared from the calendar so then I again checked the updated contact, it didn't show the birthday I saved. This is very disappointing.

It is possible this is related to that data syncing. As a test, if you go to Google's website and log in to Gmail, do you see the contacts updated there? Also, when you update contacts, was it there or in the Contacts app on your device?

It sounds like updated information saved in Contacts isn't saved after some time.
To help us isolate this behavior further, can you tell us which account your Contacts are associated with? You can go to Settings > Contacts > Default Account to check.

i checked my default account for contacts. It is my google gmail account. Is it the issue here?
And if the problem is that and i if change it to my iCloud account will I lose any data or will anything happen?
