Carplay BMW speaker issue

I have a BMW F44 (M235i) and until fairly recently had no issues at all with using Carplay. Now, on every journey approximately 30s after starting the car, the Carplay music moves to the navigation speaker only for around 10s, then reverts back to the sound system. The car doesn't do this for any other audio source. The car is not due any software update, nor has it had any recent updates. I have removed the phone from the car and reconnected multiple times, but no change. It's very annoying!
