Album Art mismatched

i recently had to rebuild my entire library after losing all the music on my PC. I finally got everything organized as well as fixing titling issues and missing album art. I rebuilt all my playlists and everything looks good on iTunes, on my media center PC.

When I finally got around to updating the library on my phone, everything seemed to move along nicely. It took 3 hours to load 31,000 songs.

Once complete, I discovered that there are many incorrect album covers. When checking one of my playlists, I discovered 36 incorrect covers on songs, just through the letter D. I didn’t have the desire to go through all 425 songs in this playlist.

From the looks of it, while the covers are wrong in iTines on my phone, it looks like most of the errors are of covers that are in the library. When checking iTunes on my PC, everything is correct.

I have a iPhone 11 Pro Max operating on IOS 15.5, a Windows PC working on Windows 10 21H2, OS Build 19044.1766, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0 and iTunes 12.12.4.1

FWIW, I check a couple of the errors to confirm that the affected files don’t have more than one associated pic for the album artwork.

How do I go about correcting the album artwork on my phone when it’s correct on my PC?

Hey there NFLMVP,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, how did you previously sync your music from your PC to your iPhone? For example, did you sync your music from iTunes while your iPhone was connected to your PC via a USB cable, or did you use Sync Library as shown here: Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support

If you used Sync Library, it's possible the album artwork was pulled from the Apple Music catalog, and we'd recommend trying to sync your music manually using a USB cable to see if the issue persists. Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!

I started the process before bedtime and everthing seemed to progress even faster than the first attempt, which took almost exactly 3 hours. My calculations, after the first half hour was that this was on schedule to finish within about an hour and 45 minutes but I was dead tired to so I went to bed. While laying in bed, I wondered if I should have added another step to the process....rebooting the phone....after deleting the music and the music app.

Well, long story short, everything looks perfect this morning. Apparently no reboot was required. Thanks a bunch.
