is it possible to turn off certain account email notifications in mail? I have a secondary account that I just throw in what ever website I don't want to put my personal email in. I would still like to see some of the emails that comes to that account in the shared inbox but I don't exactly want the notification banner coming up for that email.

The setting is "Inbox Only". You'd need to create a rule that moves messages of the secondary mailbox to another folder, as they come in, so they're not arriving in "Inbox" anymore.

Pretty sure it's an all or nothing sort of thing.
