File names cut short in File folder

How can I view document icons in the file folder with the full file name visible on all files? Usually they are cut so short I can’t tell what documents I’m looking at without previewing each file or getting the info for each individual file.

This is pretty annoying because these icons have somehow changed size to be very small and I haven't found a fix for this. Unable to change external drive folder icons After the Sonoma upgrade, I cannot change an external drive's (ie. Sandisk USB stick) folder icon. I have been using the technique of copying a picture, selecting the folder's info, and then pasting the copied picture onto the upper left hand icon, which then displays the copied picture. This technique now does not work, and I am unable to change the folder icon on the external drive.

Hi,

Hovering your pointer over a truncated folder or filename will present a full, floating name in its place.
