DVD to Hard Drive to External Drive (Monterey)

I have many old family films scanned into DVD's. I would like to load them into my hard drive and then move to separate external drives to give my children which are now old adults

I created a folder in Pictures and tried to copy DVD info but when I open I get two folders that say Audio Ts and Video Ts.

( I had all the old family VHS tapes scanned and transferred to my hard drive and then to 2 external drives without any issues. I now have 16 DVD's with old films and I am trying to transfer to my internal hard drive to then move to the external drives for each child)

You should have two folder on the video DVD disc: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.

OPEN THE VIDEO_TS folder, locate the largest .VOB file and open it with Handbrake.

Then convert to whatever movie format you like best. I use .mp4.

If you don't have those two folders you don't have a video DVD disk.

Yup-try this link:

—set source to video dvd… when you put homemode dvd into dvd drive click on it once, so it’s highlighted, then press Apple( command/cloverleaf) + I on keyboard… long window should come up…. Choose “open with” then look for Handbrake… and say “yes”… dvd should open up in Handbrake… also clean laser lens of dvd drive using a brush-based cleaning dvd or shot of compressed air… otherwise ask question at handbrake.fr… you should also have various libraries needed by Handbrake installed and/or updated as needed… handbrake should be most recent version also
