What to do to auto-connect Apple TV and HomePod mini after restart/sleep?

Hi, my setup is AppleTV connected to the projector and HomePod mini used for sound. I can connect HomePod to Apple TV for the sound output, but after sleep, restart... HomePod is disconnected and I have to repeat the procedure again (Settings, Audio Output...) it is really boring and I can't understand why this feature is missing (to reconnect to the last AirPlay device). Shouldn't be Apple TV + HomePod one of the typical Apple setups? Please, let me know if there is something I missed.

It won’t stick. Unless you have an Apple TV 4K you can keep it set as the default audio output and then it will stay connected for subsequent uses: Set up home theater audio with HomePod mini or HomePod and Apple TV 4K - Apple Support
