My disk utility totals don't match hard drive totals

My disk utility shows 157Gb but I only have 95Gb worth of files. Is it a virus?

I cannot find where my "Other Data" is stored My MacBook Air has 121gb of storage space, however 65gb of it is being used by "other" data. I've followed as much instruction online as I could, including searching through my library for anything taking up a lot of space, but this has only gotten rid of maybe 6gb of the other data. All my documents and personal things are being kept on a hard drive now, but I don't even have enough space left to get the Montery update. At the same time there may be more I could delete, I just don't know how to identify what is safe to delete and what isn't. I don't know what I can do to fix this now. I do know that I have a virus on my computer that I also haven't been able to find and delete, despite looking at the Activity Moniter and Disk Utility. I can't help but wonder if maybe that has something to do with it? If anyone has any suggestions, that would be much appreciated.

The "other" files are flooding half of the disk, letting only 6gb disc free On my Macbook Pro (MacOS, 11.6.8, 250gb SSD, 8gb RAM) ... I am trying to free disc space. But no matter how much GB I erase it looks like the "Other" data (the grey area, as seen in the picture) is flooding every part of the disk (128gb) in a matter of hours, letting only about 6gb of disc free. How to delete "other" files, and turn off the cause of "other" files. I appreciate your help. Gasper.

Systems take up all my storage I have no more storage space on my macbook air and & systems is taking up more than half of my storage with 64 GB, is there something I can do to reduce it? or could it be a virus or something so I should take it to service?
