AirPods icon isn't showing in the volume adjuster on my iPhone.

so I recently got airpods 3rd gen, everything is perfect until today I just paired them and when I checked my phone’s battery life and saw that the airpods icon wasn’t there in the volume adjuster, it’s like if there was a random bluetooth device paired instead of airpods, I don’t know if that’s a sign of my airpods being fake because I know so well that that’s not what is supposed to be, it’s supposed to be the little airpods icon displaying instead of that, any answers?
