Can I bring my MacBook on the beach?

My family and I are going on a summer vacation at a beachy place and I’m debating whether I should bring my Mac or not. I feel like I need it for watching Netflix.

Hello,

how fun to go on a vacation! ☀️

I would not recommend that you bring your MacBook to a beach. Mainly since if sand enters into the MacBook internal parts may get damaged. None of the MacBooks are water- and/or dust proof which makes it easy for sand to get into the machine. Even if you believe you are careful, there can be winds etc that causes sand to blow around.

Of course you can.

Just don't let it get wet, don't let it sit in the hot sun, don't get any sand or grit in the keyboard, shield it from wind-carried dust and debris, keep all drinks and food away for it and don't let salty sea spray get on it.

Just normal precautions and it will be fine.

As far as keeping it in then room, I'd imagine that would make it a theft target. And safes do have master keys and known combinations, so be careful there too.
